This pretty native plant is found throughout the southern plains areas in central Canada. Sturdy, drought tolerant colourful plants 1 m (3') tall bloom from mid summer through to early fall. Thrives in hot, humid conditions and medium to drier soils. Flowers are up to 7.5 cm (3") across with bright yellow reflexed petals with pronounced tubular centres.
